This 4 week series is designed to meet students where they are along their path of practice. We will work to create a solid foundation for your yoga practice focusing on Yogic Philosophy, basic alignment principles and meditation.
Each class will build upon information from the previous week so by the end of the series students can safely and confidently transition into more advanced classes.
Each class will include breathwork, movement, meditation and discussion.
Week 1: Breath, Movement + Introduction to Sun Salutations We will explore how the breath initiates and sustains all bodily movements and learn the foundations of Sun Salutations. We will also learn how to effectively incorporate blocks and other props into your practice.
Week 2: Vinyasa: Linking breath with movement | Standing + Balancing Poses We will continue to build upon Sun Salutations and their relationship to the breath. We will also learn key elements of 4 standing poses: Mountain, Warriors 1 + 2 and Low and High Lunge.
Week 3: Seated Poses, Backbends + Twists We will cover how to transition from energetic standing poses to cooling seated postures and how the breath can allow us to access more depth and opening in those poses.
Week 4: Integration and Restorative poses In our culminating class, we will put together what we've learned over the previous 3 weeks to create a full-spectrum practice. We also will learn the benefits of restorative poses.
Bring a notebook and pen.
Investment: $60 in advance | $70 at door | We encourage you to take all four classes, but drop ins are welcome.
