Candle Gazing: A Meditation Practice

It is said that the, "eyes are the windows to the soul", and there is no doubt that the eyes are one of our most powerful senses. In Sanskrit, the word Trāṭaka means, "to gaze steadily at a fixed point".  Trāṭaka is known to enhance the power of memory and bring to the mind a heightened state of awareness, attention and focus. In this peaceful and relaxing, yet powerful meditation practice, we will be comfortably seated as we gaze upon a candle's flame.  As with any meditation practice, candle gazing allows us to experience a sense of calm and peace amidst our very hectic daily lives. Join Liza Dioso every third Friday of the month as she guides you to connect with your breath and invite tranquility in our safe and supportive space.

Please dress comfortably in layers.  Bring a sweater or blanket for added comfort.

Space is limited and pre-registration is encouraged.

About the Instructor: Liza Dioso began her journey to the yoga mat on New Year's day several years ago as a way to cope with the daily stresses of work and motherhood.  After practicing at home with DVD's, Liza took her first yoga class in a studio setting when things started to make sense.  Linking movement to breath became dance like, fun and challenging as she took those special moments on her mat as a gift to herself to release tension and emotions.    Soon after, she began her yoga teacher training and continues her education in meditation, various yoga styles and Reiki.
