Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be flexible?

No, of course not! You do not have to be flexible in order to practice yoga but part of the benefit of learning is that it will make you more flexible both physically and mentally. Our studio is equipped with yoga blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets to make the poses accessible to everyone.

What should I wear?

There is no special clothing required. Dress comfortably in clothes you can easily move in (i.e. sweats, t-shirt, leggings, shorts, etc.). Please do not wear shoes in the studio.

Will the teachers do hands-on adjustments?

At Mellow we emphasize using verbal cues for the student to find the alignment that feels best and to help to prevent injury. For the comfort and safety of all of our students, we use permission stones in the studio.  A bowl of stones will is adjacent to the yoga room. If you give permission for the instructor to use hands-on adjustments, grab a stone and place it at the top of your mat.

What if I come late?

No one will be allowed to enter class after the door is closed. This is for your safety and for the respect of other students. The yoga poses build upon one another. By arriving late, you may miss important warm-up techniques that are required for you to safely move through the practice.

Does all levels really mean ALL levels?

Absolutely! All of our classes are open to all levels of experience. The instructor will offer variations of the poses so you can choose to take whichever version is right for you.

Can I pre-register for classes?

Yes! We encourage pre-registering online for classes and workshops. Walk-ins are welcome as well. Click here to reserve your space.
